Freyja Publishing is a working independent publisher based in Queensland, Australia. This site is where the publisher’s own experience of writing, producing and selling books is written up for other authors: what Amazon KDP actually does, what print-on-demand costs, how a series is planned, what an ISBN is for, and where the money in self-publishing really comes from.
Who writes this
Every article is written and edited by the publisher, Michelle, who runs Freyja Publishing Co (ABN 72 981 681 771) and publishes fiction and non-fiction under several imprints. The articles draw on that first-hand publishing work and on primary sources — platform documentation, industry reports and named publishing professionals — rather than on recycled listicles. Where an article describes a tool or service the publisher has not used, it says so.
